Prepare to have your heart stolen by FBRN’s newest foster, Valentine.

Found as a stray on a street called Wandering Way, Valentine was never claimed, and a shelter reached out to FBRN to give her a second chance. She made her gratitude known immediately. On the ride home, she stayed close and gently licked whatever she could reach, as if to say thank you.

Valentine has been an easygoing foster pup. If she was not previously potty trained, she learned quickly and has had only a couple of accidents while settling into her new home in Michigan. It is unclear whether she was once a pet or part of a breeding program. She is unsure about stairs and puzzled by the couch, but she is confident and responds beautifully to gentle correction. She already knows how to sit and understands that we stay quiet in our crate.

At the vet, Valentine was treated for a significant ear infection and a secondary eye infection from untreated dry eye. Otherwise, she received a good report. She could use a few extra pounds and will need to be spayed, but she is doing well overall.
