Keep an eye on this beauty – she’ll be ready for her forever home in no time! Meet one-year-old Vanna who found herself in a shelter after being surrendered by her former owners. We don’t know much about her history except that she has lived her entire life outdoors. We’re happy the shelter has faith in FBRN to help this beautiful girl find her perfect forever home, and we’re thrilled to get her into foster care before the summer heat arrives.
Personality wise, Vanna is a total lovebug. As she has gotten more comfortable in her foster home, she has started to ask for more love every day. Foster mom reports that Vanna now runs to all the different humans in the house for attention, but she is apprehensive of men wearing hats. Vanna isn’t much of a barker herself, but if she hears other dogs barking she’ll join in the chorus. Other animals (dogs and cows) have not yet interested her, but she is showing signs of interest in play time and chew toys.
Vanna is currently wearing a diaper, but after she is spayed and once she’s had a little more time to learn proper potty skills, we’re hopeful the diaper will no longer be needed. Vanna arrived with a strange gait and an inability to sit all the way down. She’s now walking (and running) in a care-free manner. However, she still cannot completely sit and this will be addressed at her vet check as it could be an orthopedic issue. On a more positive note, Vanna seems to be completely allergy free! She also has a healthy appetitive even though she didn’t know how to eat out of a bowl when she first arrived in her foster home. She’s a smart girl and figured that one out very quickly!
