Please welcome handsome youngster Herbert to the FBRN family! This sweet boy was surrendered to FBRN when he started losing mobility in his hind end. Sadly, his owner was unable to afford the medical care needed. Since he’s been in foster care, Herbert has had an MRI, been examined by a surgeon, and is scheduled for spinal surgery soon.

Herbert is almost two years old and seems to be a happy and well-adjusted pup. In addition to his back problems (IVDD), he has some allergies but seems otherwise healthy. Herbert’s foster mom has been working hard to keep him calm so as not to exacerbate his back issues before his upcoming surgery. Since Herbert is still mobile, this is especially difficult with a happy young pup! Taking care of a youngster before and after surgery is a challenge. Herbert’s foster family will be working hard to make sure he is ready for a very special forever home.

Veterinary care for IVDD dogs is expensive and sweet Herbert doesn’t have a cent in his piggy bank. If you would like to sponsor Herbert and help to get him back to being 100% healthy, please click the link above! Herbert could use some encouraging words and a few extra treats as he prepares for surgery and recovery.
