In Memory of Caroline Smith
From the first day, Ida (Lulu Lemon-grad) was the quirkiest, smartest, and funniest Frenchie we have known. We had to say goodbye last month. Ida was a two time cancer survivor going through surgery and chemo like a champ.
For those who knew Ida, her shenanigans were legendary. She was a bit of vinegar on the outside but had a heart of gold on the inside. Dubbed “Notorious I-D-A” by Dr. Eve Badger’s staff at West Ashley Vet, she was a character wherever she went.
Ida came to us from a military family in Germany with a passport in paw. She participated in our holiday hijinks, though less willingly than our other Frenchies. She was a great travel companion and a constant therapy dog. One of her favorite destinations was going with us into the mountains of Western North Carolina. We also often joked that she could probably drive us on our many trips to West Virginia. In reality, when you showed her the car keys, she was ready to go, no matter the destination.
