In Memory of Chuck
I worked with Chuck at the beginning of his career in Funeral Service. He has been a lifelong friend and a trusted colleague ever since. Chuck and Amy met about the same time my wife Jill and I were also dating, and we were all married less than 30 days apart. We had a mutual love of “The King” and shared the opinion that there have been 46 Presidents of these United States…and only ONE KING…ELVIS PRESLEY! I knew it was Chuck calling when I answered the phone (and the first thing I heard was “SONNY – RED!!!!” (A reference to Elvis’ longtime friends Red and Sonny West). Chuck spent his life “Taking Care of Business” (or TCB’n…as we would say) and loving his family. Chuck and I spent the summer of 2016 making sure the Cubs won the World Series, and we were pretty sure without our support, it would never have happened. Jill and I also have shared a passion and love for French bulldogs with Chuck and Amy for 20+ years and over 25 years of friendship growing up with the Eighners. He loved watching his Sons follow in his footsteps on the “Wrasslin'” mat and reminded me often that “He was the best wrestler on Bear Mountain!” (another Elvis reference from his storied movie career)
He was a great friend, and we will miss him. “The King isn’t dead; he has just gone home!”
