“Dilly is my first foster and I have to say I am so fortunate to have had my first experience with him! He has brought us so much joy and we absolutely love this little guy! Just looking at him makes my heart smile. There hasn’t been a person or pup that has met Dilly who hasn’t fallen for him too – and he feels the same way! Dilly is low maintenance and high on the affection scale! He is such a special pup and will be a wonderful addition to a very lucky family.”

Story
Please welcome Dilly to the Available page! Dilly was tearfully surrendered to FBRN after his owner developed health issues, which made it difficult to care for him. He was clearly very loved and arrived with a houseful of gear. He is a five-year-old brindle hunk of love.
Like many Frenchies, Dilly comes with a few health issues, all of which are thankfully manageable. He has allergies that are managed by daily Apoquel and limited sight in his right eye following an injury (perforated cornea) last year. However, these issues do not get him down! Dilly could stand to lose a pound or two (do not tell him that!) and his owners need to monitor him during exercise or play to make sure he does not overheat.
Personality wise, Dilly is every Frenchie owner’s dream. He is laid back and easy going. Dilly is potty trained and does all his business outside. Foster mom does not have a fenced yard, so she stays outside with him. Dilly enjoys short walks and is the love of the neighborhood children, ages 6 to 9, whom he finds delightful. There are also six dogs on the cul de sac of different ages and sizes, and he gets along swimmingly with all of them. Dilly is a pup that could adapt to almost any living situation.
Dilly’s ideal home would have a yard as he has grown accustomed to one, but he is not a barker so could live in an apartment. While having people around during the day would be preferred, he would also be happy with a dog companion as long as someone is able to make sure he gets outside for potty breaks. He would LOVE to have a lap to snuggle on all the time, someone to give him skritches and a hand to lick, but he manages. He can make himself comfortable almost anywhere – floor, carpet, bed, cooling mat.
His foster mom wants you to know that, “Dilly is my first foster and I have to say I am so fortunate to have had my first experience with him! He has brought us so much joy and we absolutely love this little guy! Just looking at him makes my heart smile. FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family. Dilly would love to have you fill out an application and perhaps get to pick him up and take him to his forever home. Dilly has been very well behaved in the car for trips under an hour, and his foster mom is willing to work with his forever family to make the trip tolerable.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations and we do not set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
