Story
Have you been searching for your new best friend? Look no further, Josephine is ready to pack her bags (well, toy box) and settle in with her forever family!
This lovely lady came to FBRN when her previous owner’s travel schedule kept her from getting the attention she deserves. Josephine is now on the lookout for a home where she can enjoy cuddles on the couch, strolls around the neighborhood, and the occasional burst of zoomies to keep life interesting.
Kids? Love them. Dogs? Even better. Big, small, male, female – Josephine doesn’t discriminate. She’s a social butterfly through and through.
She does come with one funny quirk: Josephine likes to gently “gum” her people’s hands and feet. Think of it as her way of saying hello (with a side of slobbery kisses).
When she’s not busy charming the humans, you’ll find her playing with her ropes, chew toys, or beloved stuffies. She’s always game for fetch, chase, or a good wrestling match, but equally happy to curl up for snuggles. A fenced yard would be the cherry on top for this active girl who loves to run.
Josephine is crate and house trained (with the occasional oops), and she’d do just fine with first-time Frenchie owners as long as they’re prepared to help her manage some allergy issues. She would be happy to accompany you to the office and sit at your feet while you work.
Josephine’s foster family sums it up best, “Josephine is very sweet. She is playful but also a wonderful cuddler. Her favorite spot is lying between your legs while you watch TV. She crates very well but would much rather be right next to you. She loves all people and is very trusting.”
If you’re ready for a loyal companion with equal parts pep and snuggle, Josephine might just be your girl. All you have to do is apply for her and be ready to pick her up should you be selected.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
About Josephine
Josephine has several allergies and must remain on regular Cytopoint shots, Purina pro plan small breed lamb and rice diet, and have regular medicated baths.
Josephine has a history of non-epileptic seizures with unknown causes. A bile acid test was done to rule out a liver shunt, and the vet suggests it may actually be due to possible gut inflammation so she should remain on her current diet.
Josephine has occasional potty accidents in her crate.
Josephine sometimes shows playful mouthing behavior.
Josephine’s vet history prior to coming into FBRN indicated the possibility of an enlarged heart which was being treated with Enalapril prescription medication. The vet examination upon FBRN intake indicated no murmur and likely no heart disease, so Josephine was taken off Enalapril medication.

I stumbled upon Josephine and her sweet face and personality melted our hearts. She reminds me so much of my Poppy who grieved with me when we lost our youngest son. Poppy went to the other side earlier this year. ![]()
