Story
Say hello to gorgeous Gigi, a delightful one-year-old pied Frenchie who is ready to prance her way into her forever home! This 27-pound gal was originally being given away on Facebook when a Good Samaritan took her in and surrendered her to FBRN. She’s a classic Velcro Frenchie who wants nothing more than a human (or two!) to follow around, snuggle with, and adore.
Gigi is smart and has higher-than-average energy for a Frenchie. Her foster mom describes her as bright, active, playful, and always looking for something fun to do. She loves walks, car rides, wrestling with dog friends, playing with toys, and snoozing directly on top of her favorite person when the day is done. Attention is Gigi’s love language, and she thrives when she gets plenty of it.
She currently lives with a five-year-old child and three other dogs, including one who is both larger and dominant, and she gets along well with everyone. She may do best with submissive or easygoing dog companions, as she can be a bit on the dominant side herself. While she showed some initial food-related grumpiness when she first arrived, that behavior has resolved in her foster home. Potty training is still a work in progress. She reliably uses a doggy door, but her foster mom isn’t sure how she would do without one, and she has occasionally marked inside.
Health-wise, Gigi was spayed while in foster care and has no known medical conditions. She is young so issues may arise as she gets older, but a current clean bill of health is all we can ask for.
Gigi would thrive in a home where someone is around often or where she has doggy companions to keep her company. Since she hasn’t lived with cats or small animals, a home without them is required. A house with a fenced yard would be ideal, though apartment living could work for an owner committed to frequent walks and playtime. She may also be able to accompany her person to the office, depending on the setup. Because she’s too large to fly in-cabin, Gigi will require ground transport for adoption.
Her foster mom adds, “Gigi is a total Velcro Frenchie who deserves and needs lots of love and attention. She’s incredibly smart and truly an easy dog. She would love nothing more than to sleep on someone’s head and be their constant companion. Whoever adopts her will be very lucky.”
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
