Shhh… don’t tell witness protection, but this handsome gentleman made his escape from Upstate South Carolina and headed to the Lowcountry. He decided it was time to trade peaches for shrimp and grits, although we suspect peach pie may have been a factor in his decision.

Carmine is an inquisitive but reserved boy who is still decompressing and getting comfortable in his new surroundings. So far, he has been an incredibly sweet Velcro Frenchie who prefers to keep his favorite person in sight. He is quiet and well-mannered in the house and has even proven to be a fan of crate time. His one barking session was reserved for the Frenchie in the mirror, who apparently needed to hear a few things.

Carmine enjoys exploring the backyard and then stretching out on a cooling blanket to recover from his adventures in the Charleston heat. He appears to be in good health overall, although he could stand to lose a few pounds and his nails are a little long.

Carmine is not a fan of being picked up and will turn himself into a pancake when someone tries. He is not aggressive about it, just very clear about his preferences. As he continues to decompress, we expect to learn more about this sweet, reserved boy and watch his personality emerge.
