Story
Now that sweet foster Aja (“Asia”) has made friends with most of western Wisconsin, she is available and ready to find her forever family. This 3.5-year-old brindle-beauty was tearfully surrendered by her former family who couldn’t afford surgery for her brachycephalic syndrome.
While in foster care, Aja has excelled at quite a few things: meeting new people, including kids as young as two, snuggling, playing tug of war, being a little shadow and breathing loudly. While Aja did undergo extensive surgery for her Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS), she is still a bit symptomatic with noisy breathing. The good news is that her breathing has dramatically improved since surgery, but her new family must monitor and manage her activity level, especially in extreme temperatures, hot or cold, and never use a collar or anything around her neck for walks.
Now, you can put a leash and harness on Aja and attempt a walk around the block, but prepare to have her plop down mid journey and revolt. She is perfectly happy roaming around in a fenced yard. She also loves playing with other dogs. Her canine foster siblings are a bit older and while she tries to engage in play, she also respects their frequent rest time. She would love a playful doggy companion in her new home and add a kid or two in there who will give her lots of respectful attention and she’ll be in heaven.
Along with some continued noisy breathing, Aja also has some pesky Frenchie allergies which are pretty well controlled with regular medicated baths and avoiding common allergens in her diet like beef and chicken. She is mostly house trained, signaling near the door when she needs to go out but she does have a few accidents here and there. Her new family must be patient and not mind cleaning up a little after her.
Aja is pretty quiet and laid back most of them time. Her foster mom thinks she could be left alone while the family goes to work if she has a doggy friend to keep her company. Also, things that look like chew toys, like cell phones and glasses, need to be kept out of Aja’s mischievous reach. She would benefit from some basic obedience classes not only to teach some basics like leash walking and recall but also to develop a strong bond and relationship which she thrives on. Once she has some training under her belt, she might be a great office coworker, as long as you don’t work in a library where silence is golden.
Aja’s foster mom knows what a special girl she is and says, “Aja is the kind of dog who wants a forever relationship with someone. She is able to bond with people and other dogs. I hope she finds a home with someone who will love her dearly and show it.”
Aja loves going for car rides so start mapping out your route to The Badger State, with maybe a planned stop at a pet store. She’ll be easy to find if you follow the sound of her breathing.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
About Aja
Aja had spay surgery 02.12.2026.
Aja has brachycephalic airway syndrome. She had nares resection, palate resection and saccules removed on 02.12.2026, but remains symptomatic, so her breathing must be monitored during exercise or play. She must wear a harness when going for walks, never a collar or choke chain.
Aja has several allergies and must have regular medicated baths.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.

Good luck AJA It really bothers me when people get a Frenchie because they are so adorable & the best friend one can have, NOT knowing anything about their medical issues & what insurance is for. . I hope AJA can find a good home
