Story
Sweet, snuggly Beacon is ready to shine her light on the available page! She came to FBRN after being sprung from a shelter at the end of her stray hold. With her potty training polished and a few commands already under her collar, it’s clear Beacon once had a home.
Beacon loves meeting new people because that means more hands to pet her! She tends to stand up on people (while on her back legs) so her foster mom is working on correcting that habit. Beacon hasn’t had much opportunity to interact with small children, but she would likely be okay around them, as she is not rambunctious or a resource guarder. She has been around a 9-year-old boy since living with her foster mom and did great!
Beacon would do just fine as an only dog and for a first time Frenchie owner. She does not live with any other dogs in her foster home and has not had much interaction with them while in foster care, but was ambivalent to other dogs while at the shelter. She knows some commands like “Go to bed, Sit, and No” and responds well to corrections and re-directions. Along with not having much interest in other dogs, she hasn’t been enthusiastic around toys either. So, this girl won’t break your bank in the toy department! What she lacks with toys she makes up for with treats though. Beacon always knows when food is being prepared in the kitchen, as well as the sound of the treat bag opening. During any meal preparation she insists on being the kitchen supervisor, just in case something ends up on the floor. No ten-second rule applies around her!
Beacon is a laid-back Frenchie who just wants to be near a human at all times. Her favorite thing to do is sit on the chair with her foster mom and snore. Speaking of snoring…her snores can be quite loud, so be prepared to turn the volume up on the TV for movie night. Seeing we’re on the subject of loud noises…Beacon has a huge dislike towards any loud appliances (vacuum, hair dryers, stand mixers and blenders). Despite being sensitive to noisy appliances, she herself has not expressed herself through barking yet and would likely do great in an apartment. Beacon hasn’t expressed any interest in running around outside, but she has grown accustomed going potty in a fenced in yard. Perhaps in milder weather (as the Texas heat isn’t conducive to long playtime outside) she would be more willing to run around. Beacon does quite well in a crate…so if her new parent(s) had to be at work all day, then having someone come in to let her out midday would be okay. While Beacon is mostly a chill dog who has even done well with baths, be warned that she is indeed your typical Frenchie when it comes to pawdicures. She loathes having her toenails done.
Beacon’s foster mom has this to say, “Beacon is a very gentle dog who loves ear rubs and is a joy to foster. I would guess she was a pet somewhere. No matter how she got to us, I’m happy that we get to help her. Beacon just wants to be near a person…so you will never go to the bathroom alone!”
Beacon is on the lookout for humans to stick to like Velcro. She has a lot of love to spare and a serious snuggle agenda, so her one requirement of her forever family is that they are willing to reciprocate. If you think you are that family, then don’t delay and submit your application today!
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
