Story
Please welcome Dulce, FBRN’s newest sweetheart to the Available page. And yes, her name says it all! “Dulce” means sweet in Spanish, and this darling girl truly lives up to it.
Dulce came to FBRN when her previous owner’s housing situation changed, but she hasn’t let that slow her down one bit. At just two years old and 34 pounds, she’s a playful, affectionate young Frenchie who’s equal parts snugglebug and goofball. Her foster mom describes her in one perfect phrase: “She’s perfect!”
This little lady absolutely adores people and other dogs alike. She loves to play, wrestle, and romp with her canine friends and would be happiest in a home with another friendly dog to keep her company. Dulce is the kind of pup who greets you with hugs, literally standing on her hind legs to wrap you up and hops around like a bunny when she’s excited. She’s also a champion cuddler who’s always up for belly rubs and bedtime snuggles once playtime is over.
Dulce is crate trained, housebroken, and knows a few basic commands like “sit” and “come.” She’s working on “stay” and is eager to please, especially when praise or treats are involved. She’s wonderful with children eight and up, though her enthusiasm and bouncy personality might be too much for very young kids.
Like many Frenchies, Dulce pants quickly when she’s excited or active, so she’ll need to be watched in warm weather. She doesn’t have any special dietary needs or medications and is in great health overall. Her only “quirk” is her clever streak as she’s a bit of a Houdini who’s figured out how to hop over her playpen walls and sneak through any gaps there may be in a fence. A secure yard is a must for this curious little explorer!
Dulce would thrive in a loving home with a fenced yard, another playful dog, and a family who’s home often or can check in during the day. She’d also make a fun office buddy for someone who wants a cheerful sidekick at work.
Dulce’s foster mom says, “She is really just perfect. Immediately shows her playful side when meeting new people and dogs. Once she tires, she is happy to lie in bed and cuddle. She will be a perfect best friend. She is crate trained and knows how to sit and come. We are working on Stay!”
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
