“Gambit came to us when our hearts needed some healing and he’s been such a wonderful guest. He is so funny and silly when he runs around the house throwing his toys everywhere. He loves to snuggle on the couch and put his head right in the crook of your neck and snore in your ear. He gives lots and lots of kisses, even when you don’t want them. When he gets his zoomies, it will keep you laughing. His antics have settled down during his healing journey but keep your eyes peeled, he’s still a trickster at heart.”

Story
FBRN’s one and only master trickster has graced the available page and is ready to find his forever home! Gambit was rescued from an Alabama animal shelter and had a poorly healed front leg injury. After being evaluated by the vet, it was determined that his leg needed to be amputated…but have no fear, this hasn’t slowed down this courageous boy one bit. He still loves to play with other dogs and can’t resist a good game of chase. However, due to his front leg amputation it’s highly suggested that he doesn’t live in a home with stairs. Gambit will likely develop arthritis early on and continuous, daily stair use will exasperate this condition and cause it to happen much sooner.
As much as this little tripawd loves to play he doesn’t have a lot of stamina, so an energetic canine sibling may not be the best fit. He loves other dogs though, big and small, and would be very happy to have another snuggle buddy to nap with. Gambit is quite easygoing and laid-back for a young pup and would also do just fine as a solo dog, as long as his family offers endless cuddles as he loves to be held. While a canine sibling is negotiable there is one non-negotiable in his new home and that is…mini squishmallows. That’s right…these little, stuffy toys are his absolute favorite, so he insists on a life-time supply.
Gambit is about 90% house broken and accidents are rare, as most of the time he will let his foster family know that he has to go. At only 10-months-old he does well for a few hours alone, but he is still perfecting potty training so a lunch time break would be needed. However, are you looking to hire an adorable, 3-legged office assistant who will likely fall sleep on the job? Well, look no further! Gambit has gone to work several times with his foster mom, and she is happy to report that he is the perfect office companion. Even with the office door open, he will just hang out in his bed right by her desk.
His foster mom has this to say about her time fostering Gambit, “Gambit came to us when our hearts needed some healing and he’s been such a wonderful guest.

FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
