“Gemma is perfect. She is absolutely gorgeous, healthy and loves everyone she meets. She gives the best puppy kisses and wants to play all day long. Whoever adopts her will instantly adore her silly puppy antics. It’s been a joy watching her grow and gain confidence in bossing our Frenchie boys around. Post-meal zoomies are a regular event and night-time snuggles warm our hearts. We will miss this little princess when she finds her new family!“

Story
Buckle up everyone because Gemma has hit the available page. If there’s one thing most can agree on, it’s that puppies are quite popular (just ask the application’s team). And when it’s a Frenchie puppy, well, need we say more? Maybe not, but eight-month-old Gemma deserves an introduction even though her puppy breath alone would be enough to seal the deal. Gemma found her way into FBRN foster care after her former owner realized that raising a Frenchie puppy was an expense they couldn’t afford. Now, Gemma is eager to find an adopter who is ready for a lifelong commitment.
Gemma is happy little girl who loves everyone she meets. She is a high-energy pup who is always ready to initiate play and wrestle with her canine foster brothers. There is no short supply of “bitey faces” or zoomies either. She is a natural-born leader, wants to be in charge and doesn’t like to share her toys, bones or food (what princess should?). Families with dog-savvy children eight years and older could be a good match as long as appropriate caution is taken with toys and food.
Surprisingly for a Frenchie, Gemma is relatively healthy. She does have a history of cherry eye, which requires daily eye drops and may need surgical intervention in the future. She is crate trained, housebroken and is learning the basics of sit, stay and come. But as with any puppy or even a new adult canine addition, ongoing training is imperative for success and helps build a connection and trust with your new pal.
Gemma loves Benebones, ice cubes, tug of war toys, car rides, couch snuggles, sunbathing and walks. But perhaps her most favorite thing is playing with her canine foster brothers so a home with a playful furry companion or two would be ideal. She is still learning some appropriate social doggy manners so slow intros to any resident dogs are required. She also needs a securely fenced yard as she has been known to jump over 3-foot obstacles, which may not seem like a big deal but for an Frenchie, that is Olympic high jump material. Because she is still so young and energetic, the ideal family would have work-from-home parents, but she can go up to 4-5 hours in a crate, if needed. And if you have time to train and guide her to be a polite office guest, she would love to meet and greet all your office mates every day.
Gemma’s foster mom smitten and says, “Gemma is perfect. She is absolutely gorgeous, healthy and loves everyone she meets. She gives the best puppy kisses and wants to play all day long. If you’re ready to commit to raising pretty Princess Gemma all the way through to Queenhood and beyond, submit your application. Whether you’re near or far, plan to come to SoCal by train, plane or automobile to pick her up.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
