“Harrington is a smart boy and learns quickly. He likes treats, but tends to be slow to take them, so we must be sure he gets his before the other dogs try to take it. We call him “wild man” due to his zoomies and seemingly lack of fear of anything. He does use his ramp to get on the couch, and as he has grown, he tends to leap directly on and off if he determines that it takes too long to get to the ramp. Harrington likes people and gives abundant kisses with the slightest provocation. He has been a great puppy with us for the last 3 months or so; we wish for him to have a loving family to call his own, and he will be greatly missed by us and our pups.”

Story
Welcome to the available page, Harrington! As stated on his foster page, he may be little, but this boy has a big personality! Harrington is one of the Stranger Things Hawkins 6 pack. He and his five litter mates were surrendered to FBRN after an accidental breeding.
At this stage, Harrington is a healthy puppy. He did react to a lepto vaccine, so it is expected he will develop allergies as he gets older. He currently eats dry food and peanut butter and oatmeal treats, no other dog food or people food, and he has been a-okay.
Harrington has three foster fur siblings ranging in ages from 1 to 12 and he interacts well with them all. Of course, he likes to play with the youngest one, but he’s happy to curl up and nap with any combination. Harrington is an energetic puppy, and the older dogs have to be a bit tolerant of his exuberance. A fenced yard is a must for his zoomies or he will run through the house like a “wild man,” his current nickname. Harrington has shown no resource guarding with food, and he has been taught that he cannot have a toy if someone else is playing with it. Once left however, it’s absolutely fair game. He loves chew bones and stuffies, most anything he can carry around.
Harrington is doing very well with potty training. His new family will need to continue to work with him as he matures. He sleeps in his crate at night and when the family is out of the house. He has a tendency to wake and cry at night, but is calmed quickly. Like many Frenchies, Harrington thinks that baths and nail trims are pure torture so his forever family will need to be prepared for a sulky Frenchie come bath time.
Harrington’s ideal home will have other fur siblings for play and companionship and a fenced yard for lots of running around and basking in the sun. The humans in his life will need to understand that he is still a puppy with a lot of energy and will need to be able to deal with his enthusiasm. For this reason, no small children that he might knock over by mistake. Of course, having a human around during the day would be ideal while he is still learning to be the perfect Frenchie companion. Although Harrington would love the attention of people in an office setting, his immaturity and energy level would probably be an impediment at this stage.
Harrington’s foster mom wants you to know that, “Harrington is a smart boy and learns quickly. He likes treats, but tends to be slow to take them, so we must be sure he gets his before the other dogs try to take it. We call him “wild man” due to his zoomies and seemingly lack of fear of anything. Harrington likes people and gives abundant kisses with the slightest provocation. He has been a great puppy with us for the last 3 months or so; we wish for him to have a loving family to call his own, and he will be greatly missed by us and our pups.”
Get your app in quickly if Harrington seems like he would be a good fit for your family. Harrington will remain available for a minimum of 24 hours even if that means over 20 applications are taken. We think he might the popular kid in school, but be prepared to travel to Louisiana because he will not be shipped. Harrington has tended to get carsick, even on short trips. A discussion with your vet about travel might be in order if you are any distance away. Please note, Harrington will not transfer to his new home until after Christmas.
FYI our policy is – once we receive 20 applications for a Frenchie, we stop collecting applications for that dog, so if you see a great fit for your family in the week’s “Sneak Peek” list, please watch for the next weekly update for her available picture so you don’t miss out! Now, as you can imagine, we get 20 applications for healthy young dogs quite quickly, and that is why, in the interests of fairness to people who work or otherwise can’t submit an application as soon as the available page is visible, every dog stays up a minimum of 24 hours, even if that means taking more than 20 applications for the dog.”
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations and we do not set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
