Story
Attention ladies! Handsome Hayes has made his way to the available page. This dapper cream-pied boy is looking for the perfect forever home and he checks all of the boxes:
- Likes to play
- Cat friendly
- Will accompany you on walks
- Loves the outdoors
- Well behaved in the house AND crate trained
- Loves a good car ride and a good snuggle
This smushie-faced, six-year-old heartthrob was selflessly surrendered to FBRN’s care when his owners could no longer dedicate the time necessary to his care after facing their own health issues.
Be ready to bring on the fun, because Hayes loves to play! Toys, tug-of-war, and fetch, all are right up his alley! Hayes loves to spend time outdoors, so a nice fenced yard where he can run and play with supervision would be great, but not required. As long as he can get in 3 or more good walks a day to keep in prime Frenchie form, he would be a happy boy.
Hayes has a pretty typical case of the Frenchie itchies, but was taken to the vet for a Cytopoint injection before he arrived and that seems to have worked. His foster mom reports he has perfect skin and the softest fur. Anyone lucky enough to adopt this sweet fella will have to make sure his skin regimen is maintained with medication and the occasional Frenchie spa treatment.
Hayes sleeps well in his crate overnight and walks well on a leash. After getting neutered while in foster care, his potty manners are sheer perfection! Once in a while, he wants to go outside around 5:30-6 am, so early risers are appreciated! And are you ready for cuddles? Hayes likes to lounge with his people and be caressed. Who doesn’t? It would be great if someone was home all day. He would also be fine if someone worked part-time or was able to provide a lunchtime walk break.
Hayes does have a history of resource guarding, so it is best for him to be in a home with adults and older children that would serve as firm pack leaders. Our boy likes a calm, secure environment. Frenchie experience would be a plus!
Haye’s foster mom has this to say about him, “Hayes is such a joy! He is very loving and likes to nibble ears if he gets close enough. He has not shown aggression and loves to be caressed. He has such a sweet face and it’s cute when he’s smiling. He deserves a loving home who can provide him with plenty walks and playtime.”

FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family. Hayes does enjoy a good car ride, so the ideal family would be within 5 hours of Connecticut. FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
