“Hyacinth has brought so much joy to our household. She smiles, really smiles, and it just melts your heart. She is attached to you 24/7: best velcro dog ever. She is pint sized, more the size of a cat than a dog, and pictures don’t do her size justice. That is one of the things that makes her so darn cute. Hyacinth is also queen of yoga. Her favorite place for yoga stretching is the bathroom rug, plush and soft for getting all the kinks out. She will sit by your side through anything and lift your heart up when you’re feeling down. Her beautiful dark, sometimes sad, little eyes will get you every time. Hyacinth is sunshine wrapped up in a tiny, cute-as-the-dickens body. We call her Butters and sometimes I call her my ‘little stick of butta.’ Hyacinth has been through so much with being a mill momma and I just want the world for her. She is such a precious little soul.”

Story
The hyacinth flower symbolizes many things and we believe “sorrow, love and renewal” epitomize foster Frenchie Hyacinth’s FBRN journey. Surrendered by a breeder, she’s been able to say goodbye to the sorrow of producing litters for profit and hello to a new life full of nothing but love! This four-year-old very petite princess has left her old life behind and is ready to find her forever family.
Hyacinth arrived to foster care not knowing much about being a dog. Now, she loves squeakers, chew toys, zoomies and grass. She gets along with dogs of all sizes and loves people of all ages. She even shares her foster mom’s lap with the resident cat! She is crate trained and housebroken, but her future family should still be patient as she settles into a new home and routine. She may have an accident or two if the humans aren’t watchful enough.
Now, you may be thinking to yourself, “Hyacinth sounds perfect!” She is. And she’s a brachycephalic Frenchie who doesn’t do too well with strenuous exercise or heat tolerance. She enjoys a short stroll around the neighborhood during cooler times of day and loves exploring her fenced yard before coming in for snuggles. She also had a benign throat polyp that could only be partially removed so it could grow back. Hyacinth would be a match for an experienced Frenchie person or a newbie as long as they are prepared to mitigate any potential breathing issues.
One non-negotiable is Hyacinth needs to be able to practice her yoga. She absolutely loves to show off her morning stretch routine and wouldn’t mind if you joined her. She would do well in a home with other dogs but would thrive having you all to herself as well. She’s done well staying home while foster mom goes to work, but definitely wouldn’t object to going to the office with you. She absolutely adores people and promises to only ask for and give kisses 10 times per hour. That’s an OSHA regulation* anyway (*unofficial).
If you need even more convincing of this little gal’s impact, her foster says, “Hyacinth has brought so much joy to our household. She smiles, really smiles, and it just melts your heart. She is attached to you 24/7: best velcro dog ever. She is pint sized, more the size of a cat than a dog, and pictures don’t do her size justice. That is one of the things that makes her so darn cute. If Hyacinth’s story has touched your heart and you’re ready to add some sweetness to your life, apply to adopt this mini munchkin. If chosen, be prepared to pick her up in NE Pennsylvania and don’t forget your yoga pants.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
