Story
Kodiak has made his way to the available page! While he might not be part bear, this six-year-old pint-sized creampuff is un-bear-ably adorable. He arrived in FBRN care when his former owner’s life circumstances changed.
Kodiak is as sweet as can be, and he fully understands that all your worldly possessions are not to be destroyed. He is happy to lay and chew on a bone, or play with his toys to keep himself busy. He is particularly fond of a snuffle mat his foster mom made him. Happen to love walking? Kodiak does too! He is a big fan of his two walks a day.
Kodiak does not have a mean bone in his small body, but he is opportunistic and very food driven! He will sneakily take treats or toys away from others if allowed. He gets along well with other dogs, but a dog that is possessive of food or toys may not be a fan of his thievery. While he would be a great buddy to any furry companions his forever home may have, he would also be content as an only dog. He has also spent time with two younger children without any issues to report.
During his time in foster care, Kodiak has been working on and learning appropriate potty manners. He initially believed he could use anything as a potty – both inside and outside. Thankfully, he has made big strides in perfecting his potty training, but an occasional accident is not out of the question, especially if he is motivated to mark. His forever family should be prepared to continue his potty training.
He would do fine in either a house or an apartment, but be ready to have a partner that is an early riser! Kodiak loves attention and an ideal setup for him would be one where he is not alone for extended periods of time, especially as he continues to hone his potty skills. He would do great with a stable routine. He is active and gets distracted very easily, so he likely would not be a great office companion. While he does enjoy his walks, he prefers the comforts of being inside.
Kodiak’s foster home had this to say about him, “Kodiak is the sweetest little guy and I know he is going to make someone VERY happy. He has the most adorable smile on that little face and his happy breakfast dance will melt your heart. He has made tremendous progress in the short time he has been with us and I can only imagine he will be the best little companion.”

FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
