“Luna had a rough time with losing her family of 8 years. She is a good girl that deserves a leisurely life of love. Someone retired, working from home, or who can take her to the office would be ideal. She does not like being left alone and will cry. She is not a fan of crates. Easy going with other animals. Give her some time to adjust and she is personality plus! The short time she has been here, she has captured our hearts…we are happy for her to find a forever home, but get teary eyed thinking about her leaving.”

Story
As bright and beautiful as the moon in summer, sweet Luna is making her debut on the available page. Read on to find out whether this brindle bébé is your perfect match!
Luna was tearfully surrendered to FBRN after an unfortunate and unexpected change to her former family’s living circumstances. Losing her family was understandably rough on Luna, but she’s a brave, resilient girl, and her personality is now shining through just like her celestial namesake! She is a snugglebunny to the nth degree, and wants to be close to her people at all times. Although she’s technically a senior lady, she can do zoomies with the best of them and enjoys leisurely neighborhood walks, where she can sniff all the scents and charm the pants off everyone she meets. She also loves a good game of chase, especially when it ends with some scritches and scratches from her person.
Luna’s love for her people unfortunately manifests itself in some separation anxiety. When left alone, she will bark and scratch at the door for a time before settling down. Luna is noticeably less anxious when she has another dog to keep her company, so we’d love for her new family to have a canine companion that she can lean on. Luna is also extremely vocal about her likes and dislikes, so she would not be a good fit for apartment dwellers or homes with shared walls.
Health-wise, Luna suffers from those dreaded Frenchie allergies, which cause her terrible itchiness and ear infections if not properly addressed. She eats a veterinarian-prescribed hydrolyzed protein diet, and receives monthly Cytopoint shots and regular medicated baths. Her new family will need to continue this routine, to ensure that Luna stays comfy in her skin. In addition, bloodwork performed at Luna’s intake exam indicated an elevated Precision PSL level, which measures a pancreas-specific lipase. No medical intervention is necessary at this time, but Luna’s new vet should be made aware of the test results and continue to monitor her levels.
The ideal home for Luna is one where she can be with her people as much as possible, and where the occasional bark (or yodel) is NBD. A family where someone works from home would be great, and Luna would be equally happy accompanying her person to work as she loves going on car rides (and has a special car seat so she can see out the window)! As mentioned above, Luna would also love a friendly canine buddy to play with, and to keep her company when her humans are away. Luna is social, leash-trained, and potty-trained, and gets along with all people of all ages, including kids. She even thinks cats are a-ok! What a good girl.
