Her rescue name means “lost child” and since being a part of her foster family, she has shown nothing but resilience, gratitude, and a heart that refuses to stop loving despite everything she’s been through. This gentle girl is truly one of the sweetest dogs her foster mom has ever had the privilege of caring for. Everyone who meets her falls in love. She has the heart of an old soul and is calm, affectionate, and overflowing with unconditional love. Maigo greets everyone with quiet kindness, asks for very little, and is happiest simply being close to the people she loves.

Maigo’s journey didn’t begin the way she deserved. Found as a stray, she landed in a shelter before making her way to FBRN. She arrived with dirty, infected ears, but even during treatments she sat patiently like the little princess she is. Everything about caring for Maigo has been easy because she trusts so completely and has such a gentle spirit. When she first arrived, she was timid and unsure, often quietly standing behind her foster mom or tucking herself beneath a chair for comfort. As the days passed, she realized she was finally safe. Now she’s discovering the joys of simply being a dog. She delights in chasing lizards, enjoys the cutest little zoomies, and her confidence continues to blossom with each passing day.

Maigo is wonderfully low maintenance and incredibly adaptable. She hasn’t been introduced to small children or cats, but given her sweet nature she likely would be able to accommodate a home with children. She enjoys short bursts of play followed by long naps and quiet companionship. During the day, she has free roam of the house and has shown no destructive behaviors. At night, she settles comfortably into her crate to sleep. She’s happiest spending time with her people, whether that’s relaxing with the family, soaking up endless scratches, chewing bones, or curling up beside you for a cuddle. She loves car rides and is an excellent traveler, making her the perfect companion for errands, adventures, or simply riding shotgun wherever life takes you. Seeing that Maigo thrives on companionship and truly loves being around people, her ideal home is one where she won’t be left alone for a full workday on a regular basis. She would make an exceptional office companion too, as her easygoing nature means she could fit beautifully into many different family dynamics.
