Marigold also enjoys going for walks and walks nicely on a leash. She does like to cross over to wherever her foster sibling happens to be walking, so she has been learning that a little “cross-checking” is not always appreciated. She now knows that when the leash and harness come off the hook, an adventure is about to happen, and she gets very excited.

Story
Some dogs quietly work their way into your heart before you even realize it and Marigold is one of those dogs. Sweet, affectionate, funny, playful, and happiest when she’s near her people, this Velcro girl has been an absolute dream in her foster home. Her foster family is going to have a pretty big hole in their hearts when it’s time for this little lady to head off to her forever home.
Marigold has a wonderfully funny personality, and her cauliflowered right ear only adds to her charm. When you talk to her, she tilts her head as though she is listening intently to every word, or perhaps judging you very harshly. Either way, it’s impossible not to smile at her.
She loves to play and plays hard. When she has finally worn herself out, she’ll sploot right down on the cool tile floor and happily relax. She has a great combination of playful energy and a laid-back personality, making her equally happy running around or settling in for some quality snuggle time.
And Marigold is a serious snuggler. When her foster parent heads off for a nap, she has no interest in simply waiting to be invited onto the bed. Instead, she has figured out that she can jump onto the lounge chair and use it as a launching pad to get herself where she wants to go. Once she makes it onto the bed, though, she wants to be as close to her person as possible. Velcro status: confirmed.
One thing her forever family should know is that Marigold is a toy destroyer. Give her a fabric toy and she will chew, rip, and shred it until the squeaker is finally liberated and the toy has met its maker. She takes her job very seriously, so durable toys are definitely in order.
Marigold has done wonderfully with other dogs and seems to enjoy having a canine companion. She would likely be especially happy in a home with another friendly dog and a family who wants to include her in the fun. She has also been wonderful with older children, around 8 to 10 years old. They have chased her around, played tug-of-war, and given her plenty of attention, and Marigold has loved every minute of it. She has not been around very young children, so that would be a new experience for her.
Her experience with cats is unknown, and because she has a strong interest in “hunting” squirrels, a home with cats or other small animals is not ideal.
Marigold would also be a lovely match for someone new to Frenchies. She is laid-back, loving, and relatively easygoing, although her forever family should, of course, be prepared for all the wonderful and occasionally quirky things that come with being a Frenchie parent.
A securely fenced yard would be ideal for Marigold. She loves to run, explore, and get her zoomies out, and having a safe place to do that would be a definite bonus. That said, she could also do well in an apartment. She is not a barker, making her a potentially excellent apartment companion, although her family would need to provide other opportunities for her to run and play.
Most of all, Marigold is a playful little goofball, professional toy destroyer, squirrel watcher, serious snuggler, and loyal little shadow who simply wants to be part of her people’s lives. She has plenty of love and personality to share, and she is ready to find the family that will appreciate all of the wonderfully Marigold things that make her special.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations or arrange meet-and-greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
