“She is just a doll. She is a girl’s girl who loves everyone and everything. She deserves a lively house to keep her entertained and feeling loved. As long as you are okay with carrying her upstairs and lifting her onto furniture, any home would be lucky to have her.”

Story
Who is ready for sugar and spice and everything nice with a bit of umami? It’s five-year-old Miso gracing the available menu so we hope you brought your appetite. If you remember, Miso was surrendered after her owner had a change in living arrangements which left little time to devote to Miso. She’s been simmering in her foster home and is now ready for the next course in life. And that’s where you come in!
Miso is an extra special gal who is looking for an extra special family. She is deaf, presumably from a history of recurrent ear infections, but has been learning some hand signals and flickering of lights to get her attention. She also has some allergies which may improve on a continued high-quality diet and regular medicated baths. Her future family needs to be willing to monitor for and treat any future allergy-related symptoms.
While in foster care, Miso has done really well with the resident dogs, both big and small, and her human foster siblings. She has shown some signs of resource guarding around other dogs and her food so for safety’s sake, any kiddos should be a bit older, 8 years and up, and she should always be fed separately and while she doesn’t like to share her food, she really would love to go to a home with a canine playmate. She’s a vocal and outgoing player who also loves to lay around and cuddle.
Her new home should have plenty of stuffies, her favorite toy. And maybe you don’t even need “plenty” because she really doesn’t destroy them! Miso is crate trained and has never had an accident in her crate. When she first arrived in foster, she had a few accidents out of her crate but in her defense, there was a lot of snow on the ground outside. Miso’s new family should still give her grace as she adjusts to her new environment (and maybe when there is snow). Also, while she can climb stairs, she doesn’t go down and prefers to be carried. So if your residence has a lot of stairs, just be prepared to carry 24 lbs of Princess Miso multiple times a day.
Miso has proven to be pretty adaptable; she can stay home while you go to work or she can accompany you to your dog-friendly office. Just make sure there’s an elevator unless you and your boss don’t mind some dog hair as part of your outfit.
Miso’s foster mom is smitten saying, “She is just a doll. She is a girl’s girl who loves everyone and everything. She deserves a lively house to keep her entertained and feeling loved. As long as you are okay with carrying her upstairs and lifting her onto furniture, any home would be lucky to have her.”
If you think Miso will be the perfect addition to your family, send in your application. And while there’s no place like home, Miso is willing to relocate from Kansas as long as you have the transportation.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
