“Nutmeg has been such a sweet girl with us. She arrived somewhat nervous, as we expected, but it did not take long for her to follow us around, being a nosy little old lady. She likes dog beds in every room, so she always has a soft spot. She cannot jump up on the couch, but she fully expects for you to pick her up so she can sit next to you. She is a snorer! Big noises from a little body! We discovered early on that she likes sleeping in the bed with people (and other dogs). She tends to get in her spot and doesn’t move much during the night. She will stay in bed as long as someone stays with her.”

Story
SOOOO Tell me what you want, what you really really want! Introducing the newest Spice Girl – Nutmeg! This sweet girl from an older generation is ready to rock your world! Sweet Nutmeg is 11-years-old, but can still turn it out and is ready to be your next hit! She came to FBRN due to a growing family taking away her center stage time. Through no fault of her own, Nutmeg is having to audition for a new girl band.
And even though she is a Spice Girl, she is as sweet as can be. A life of doing her own stunts has left Nutmeg with some arthritis and weakness of her shoulder, so she should avoid hip hop and break dancing from here on out. She will need her own butler to carry her up/down stairs and lift her on and off furniture – this girl’s mosh pit days are over. But she still loves to cut loose with her fur-band mates at times and taking her Centrum Silvers will keep her right as rain.
Nutmeg can live in an apartment or home, but would prefer a fenced yard to explore and laze about in when the weather is nice. She does fine alone in a crate, but gets antsy if she is put in there when others are home – she wants to be in on the action. Nutmeg knows where to take her business, but expects you to read between the lines, so she doesn’t give very clear cues. She’ll need a family who is willing to anticipate her needs so there is no reason to sing sad songs.
Here is what Nutmeg’s current stage manager (aka Foster Mom) says about her, “Nutmeg has been such a sweet girl with us.
So, Nutmeg sings If You Wanna Be My Mother, you gotta get out your pen – and fill out an application! Let Love Lead the Way and Say You’ll Be There! Because FBRN will not ship Nutmeg to her next gig. True Roadies will need to get in their tour bus and head to Louisiana to pick up this shining star! Or come in your plane – Nutmeg is small enough to be brought on board with you and fly the friendly skies in the cabin.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
