Story
FBRN’s cutest little dumpling has hit the available page! Pierogi’s story began on one of the hottest days of the year, when she was found wandering the streets and suffering from heat exhaustion. Thankfully, the wonderful people at her local animal shelter got her the care she needed. Once she was stable, she made her way into FBRN’s care, where she has been learning what it means to be safe, loved, and cherished. While she’s still learning the ropes when it comes to potty training, confidence, and toys (what they are for), her gentle nature and desire to be included in every moment make her such a rewarding companion.
This affectionate girl bonds deeply with her person and absolutely loves being close. She is happiest when she has her human nearby and will happily follow you from room to room, making sure she doesn’t miss a thing. Folding laundry? She’s watching. Doing the dishes? She’s supervising. Getting the mail? She’s coming along. Vacuuming? She’ll be there to observe! Pierogi is incredibly sweet, loving, and snuggly, and when she gets one-on-one time with her foster mom, she is at her absolute best. She simply wants to be included in your world and know that she isn’t alone.
Pierogi is still learning quite a few things, so her forever family will need to be patient and understanding. Potty training is a work in progress, particularly when she is left alone and becomes anxious. She does well with puppy pads and has had no overnight accidents, but her new family will need to continue working with her. She is also learning basic cues like sit and paw, bell training, and the ins and outs of crate training. She will happily wander into her crate on her own for a nap, but being confined in it when her people leave is much harder for her. For now, she does best with access to a safe, puppy-proofed room and her crate available with the door open.
Pierogi is also still figuring out toys and stuffies. She’s a curious girl who seems to learn by watching her foster family and dogs around her, and she’s slowly discovering that toys can be pretty fun! When it comes to other animals, Pierogi does fine with the foster cats, but she has shown some jealousy around her foster Frenchie sister, particularly when attention, food, or a favorite bone is involved. They can coexist with careful management, but Pierogi seems to truly thrive when she has her person all to herself. Because of this, we believe she would be happiest as the only animal in her forever home where she can decompress, grow, and shine without competition.
Her ideal home is one where someone is around most of the day and is looking for a devoted companion. She will be your shadow, your little supervisor, and quite possibly your new favorite coworker at the office —once she’s fully potty trained and ready for that adventure! Most of all, Pierogi needs someone who will be patient with her learning curve and appreciate what a special girl she is becoming. Give her a little time, a lot of love, and a safe place to land, and she will give you her whole heart.
Her foster mom says it best, “Pierogi is an incredibly sweet, loving, and snuggly girl who just wants to feel safe, understood, and cherished. She bonds deeply with her person and thrives when she can be someone’s whole world. If someone is looking for a devoted shadow who will adore you endlessly, Pierogi is ready to give her whole heart.”
Pierogi is ready to find the person who will make her their whole world and let her be theirs. Could that be you?
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
