Four-year-old Rari came to FBRN after his previous owner developed a medical condition that made it difficult to manage his mobility issues. Thankfully Rari has never let his IVDD define him, and he’s ready to find a forever family who will see him for the happy, affectionate boy he is.

Rari loves walks, zooming around the yard, playing with toys, and spending time with his people. In fact, he gets so excited running through an open grassy field that he’ll occasionally tumble over himself before popping right back up and continuing the fun. His favorite toys are anything that squeaks, and if you’re headed to the car, don’t be surprised if Rari races you there because he absolutely loves a good car ride.

When playtime is over, Rari is happiest right by your side. He is incredibly affectionate and loves being wherever his people are, whether that’s relaxing on the couch, following you around the house, or joining you on your daily adventures.

Rari gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes and has also lived successfully with cats. He enjoys children and would likely have a great time in a family home, though his excitement can sometimes lead to a few enthusiastic jumps during greetings.

Although Rari knows he should potty outside, he isn’t always able to hold it until he gets there because of his hind end weakness. He wears diapers without complaint, and his forever family should be comfortable helping him manage his occasional accidents. While he currently gets around very well on his own, his adopter should understand that he may eventually benefit from a mobility cart as he gets older.

Rari also appreciates a little structure around mealtime. He can be protective of his food, but this is easily managed by feeding him separately from other dogs. Otherwise, he’s a friendly, social boy who simply enjoys being included in whatever his family is doing.

Rari could thrive in many different homes. A fenced yard would certainly make him happy, but it isn’t required. Ground-level living or a home with minimal stairs would be ideal to help protect his back and make everyday life a little easier. Whether you’re a first-time Frenchie owner or a seasoned bulldog enthusiast.

His foster mom shares, “Rari truly is a one-of-a-kind pup with a one-of-a-kind walk. His back issues don’t stop him from having fun or running to his heart’s content. He wants to spend every moment with his people and will happily follow you wherever you go. His sweet face makes it almost impossible to say no to one more treat, one more belly rub, or one more car ride. Whoever adopts Rari is going to have a lifetime of unforgettable memories.”

FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
