Please welcome Raven to the Available page! Three-year-old Raven has found herself back with FBRN after her previous adoption wasn’t the right fit. She was returned because of resource guarding issues with another Frenchie in the home, and now she’s looking for a forever family that can provide the structure and leadership she needs to truly shine.

If you’re looking for the classic French bulldog personality, Raven checks all the boxes. She’s sweet, social, playful, and always ready for fun. Whether she’s romping around with another dog, tossing around a favorite stuffy, or soaking up attention from her people, Raven approaches life with enthusiasm and a smile.

Raven is the perfect mix of playful and easygoing. She’s always happy to join you for a walk or a game of fetch, but she’s just as content relaxing at home with her family. She rides well in the car, walks nicely on leash, and already knows several commands, including sit, down, place, and come.

Raven absolutely loves other dogs. Big or small, male or female, she’s happiest with a canine playmate. Her resource guarding is specific to high-value items like food and occasionally her crate, not a case of general dog aggression. With consistent boundaries, feeding dogs separately, and thoughtful management, Raven has made tremendous progress in foster care. Her forever family should be committed to continuing that structure and helping her make good decisions.

She has never shown aggression toward people and enjoys meeting new friends. Raven could do well with older, respectful children who understand that she can get a little enthusiastic during play. She has not been exposed to cats and for that reason, it would be safest she not be placed in a home with one.

Raven is house trained, crate trained, and has settled into an excellent routine in foster care. Like many dogs adjusting to a new home, she may need a brief refresher as she transitions, but a consistent schedule and crate routine set her up for success.

Medically, Raven is doing very well. She has grade II luxating patellas that aren’t currently causing her any discomfort but may need to be monitored as she gets older. She also has a recessed vulva that requires simple routine cleaning to prevent irritation. Her veterinarian has also noted narrow nares, and her future family may wish to discuss corrective surgery with their veterinarian if needed.

Raven could thrive in many different homes, whether with a single person, couple, or family. She would enjoy having another friendly, easygoing dog to play with, but she could also be successful as an only dog. A fenced yard would certainly be fun for her, but she would be just as happy with regular walks and plenty of opportunities to spend time with her people. First-time Frenchie owners are welcome, provided they’re committed to maintaining the structure and consistency that help Raven be her very best.

Her foster mom shares, “While Raven has specific triggers that adopters should be prepared to manage, she is truly a gem. She’s incredibly sweet, social, silly, and ready to play at the drop of a hat. She has exactly the kind of personality people hope for when they get a Frenchie. Raven has fit in beautifully with my dogs and has been such an easy foster. If I were looking to add another dog to my family, I’d adopt her myself.”
