“Rebel is very sweet and is going to be a great lap dog for someone. She needs to have boundaries, but she’s not aggressive at all with people or other dogs. If you are busy, she loves to be in the same room as you in her crate.”

Story
Four-year-old Rebel was rescued from a breeding situation, and it didn’t take her long to decide that she much prefers the life of a pampered pet. Housebreaking is still a work in progress (not a surprise, considering she’d never lived in a house), but Rebel was a quick study in walking on a leash and adores her daily constitutionals. In fact, this little rockstar has energy to spare and then some, and enjoys tearing about the backyard with her favorite toys (including a Tupperware lid that she nicked from the kitchen).
Rebel was spayed while in foster care, and has no health concerns or allergies to speak of. She currently shares a residence with two canine foster siblings, and gets along famously with both. Rebel hasn’t spent a lot of time with kids, but given her gentle nature and love of every human she meets, we think she’d do just fine with older, dog-savvy kiddos who understand that she is still learning to be a pet, and it may take her a little while to feel comfortable in a new living space. Since she hasn’t been exposed to cats, we have to say no kitties, in the interest of everyone’s safety.
Rebel’s idea landing spot is a home with a securely fenced yard, so she can play hard and get her ya-yas out before taking a nice nap in her crate. Since Rebel adores being with her people, she’d prefer a family where someone is home for most of the day. She’d also be a wonderful take-to-work dog, and while we can’t guarantee increased productivity, she’d definitely bring increased happiness to any workplace.
Rebel’s foster mom had this to say about our charming calamity’s child: “Rebel is very sweet and is going to be a great lap dog for someone. She needs to have boundaries, but she’s not aggressive at all with people or other dogs. If you are busy, she loves to be in the same room as you in her crate.”
