“Right now, Sapphire is still a best-kept secret that we haven’t shared with the world – until now. She has not been posted on our dogs’ Instagram page. We have an “Adopt Me” collar that we put on our foster dogs when we go for walks around the neighborhood that we haven’t put on her yet as well because once people know she’s a foster and available for adoption, like Taylor Swifts Ticketmaster sales, she might break the system with overwhelming inquiries. We hope whoever adopts her keeps in touch with us and feels comfortable reaching out for whatever questions they might have.”

Story
Did you know Ed Sheeran wrote a song about one of FBRN’s newest Frenchies to hit the available page? “You’re glowing. You color and fracture the light. You can’t help but shine and I know that. You carry the world on your back but look at you tonight. The lights, your face, your eyes exploding like fireworks in the sky. Sapphire!” Okay it may not really be about our beautiful 2.5-year-old brindle Sapphire, but she is definitely worth writing a song for! Sapphire and two of her siblings came into FBRN after they were in a car accident with their former owner who never reclaimed them.
According to her foster mom, Sapphire has been an amazing pup and the easiest foster to date! She is potty trained, smart, calm, affectionate and kid and dog friendly. She’s practically “plug and play:” ready to easily assimilate into her new forever home. As long as you have cheese treats, comfy dog beds, and lots of pets to give, she’ll be a happy camper. She would love to go to a family with kids and another dog or two so she’s never alone. While in foster, Sapphire has done well with kids as young as 2.5 years. She could go home with a first-time Frenchie owner as long as they realize the breed’s limitations with heat sensitivity and lack of stamina. Sapphire also has some allergies so her new family must be committed to continuing her monthly Cytopoint shots, routine medicated baths and regular eye cleanings and eye drops. She is very tolerant of baths and handling so she makes these tasks easy peasy.
Sapphire is crate trained but she would much rather be with her people as often and long as possible so be prepared for her to sing the song of her people for about 15 minutes. She will quiet down especially if you are patient and let her just settle herself by “singing.” However, if you happen to share any walls with neighbors, either the neighbors have to also be patient or the walls should have soundproof ratings on the higher end of a 0-100 scale (where 100 = “Frenchie cries”). Otherwise, she is a pretty easy placement: city or country, fence or no fence, work from home, office pup, or a couple midday breaks. Bicycles, skateboards, loud noises, squirrels and birds don’t bother her so she would be a perfect companion when you run dog-friendly errands.
As mentioned before, Sapphire’s foster mom is her biggest fan and says, “Right now, Sapphire is still a best-kept secret that we haven’t shared with the world – until now.
If you are ready to write the next verses in Sapphire’s life song, submit your application. She’s currently charming everyone in Brooklyn so plan your road trip to New York because she is too big to fly.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
