“Sidney is like a cuddly teddy bear who wants to be with his human all the time. Sidney thrives on love, attention and lots of snuggles. The first few years were unkind to Sidney so he is looking for his fur-ever human. He will be your best bud, always there for you when you need a hug. He is easygoing, happy to entertain both you and himself. He will love to share the bed with you, and thanks to recent nasal surgery will no longer snore. Sidney is ready for the easy life with his new family. He will give you nothing but love and laughs for many years to come. If you’re looking for a best bud and a ride or die guy, look no further than Sidney.”

Story
Please welcome Sidney to the Available Page! He came to FBRN from another rescue organization that was not able to manage his severely infected tail pocket. The previous rescue pulled him from an animal shelter. While he experienced a very rough patch, his fortune turned when he was taken in by FBRN. With his foster family, he has learned what it is like to be a loved member of a family an in return, he provides ample love and snuggles.
Personality wise, Sidney is a love bug and an entertainer. He wants to be with his human or canine foster siblings as much as possible. He will steal your lap any chance he is given because he loves snuggles and sleeping so much. While Sidney he will play with toys by himself, he much prefers more interactive games like fetch. He does very well with a canine companion, but a smaller dog would be best. Sidney loves his daily walks and meeting everyone he comes across.
Sidney arrived with several health challenges, which have all been resolved and we are happy to report that he is doing very well. While at the shelter, he had one eye removed due to trauma. He had his tail removed while in FBRN’s care, which helped resolve the ugly infection he was battling. Sidney also had his airways addressed while getting surgery on his tail – he had his palate shortened and his nares opened. He is now a new and healthy man!
On the behavioral side, Sidney is quite protective of his food and will steal his sibling’s food if left unattended during mealtime. With guidance from his foster family, his manners have dramatically improved and his foster mom believes this behavior could subside entirely with continued training. For this reason, however, young children are not a good fit for Sidney.
Sidney thrives when with his people, but gets anxious when left alone. We can’t blame him with the start to life he had! His ideal home is one where he has companionship. A fenced yard would be a plus, but he is not picky and would do well in almost any setting – home or apartment. Sidney would also love to be the center of attention at your office! While Sidney is on all accounts a healthy French bulldog, he would do best with someone with Frenchie experience given his history.

FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family. Sidney would love to have you fill out an application and perhaps get to pick him up and take him to his forever home. Sidney loves car rides and would most enjoy a ride to his forever home.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations and we do not set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
