FBRN’s Soda has popped onto the available page! Soda (who is affectionately known as SoSo with her foster family) was surrendered when her former owner experienced personal and financial changes. Now she is ready for the next chapter! She settled into foster life beautifully and has quickly made herself right at home, showing what a wonderful companion she can be.

Soda is a girl who doesn’t want to miss a thing! She loves following her people around and being part of whatever is happening, but she’s also perfectly happy to curl up and snooze. She loves small, stuffy, squeaky toys and one of her favorite things is playing fetch (especially with small balls). Because she can overheat easily, fetch sessions need to be kept short and sweet though…but she’ll happily make the most of every throw! This also means she is not a long-walk or jogging buddy. Her exercise needs can be met with short play sessions, indoor fetch, and time outside for sniffing and potty breaks. A fenced yard would be wonderful, but she could also do well with leash walks to a suitable potty area. An apartment could even be a possibility for the right family, provided she has opportunities for short play sessions and regular outdoor potty breaks.

Soda loves flopping onto her back for a snooze and showing off her adorable little belly. She lives with other Frenchies in her foster home, and does well with them, although she can be a little bossy with a more submissive canine companion. She has also started showing some resource guarding tendencies with toys, so her foster family manages her toys carefully and removes them when needed. She responds well to correction and redirection. She is a great listener, takes direction well, and settled into her foster family’s routine quickly.

She has been a lovely, well-behaved houseguest and isn’t overly clingy, but she loves being close to her people and especially enjoys sleeping in bed with them. At bedtime, she patiently waits to be picked up and tucked in! She doesn’t need to be constantly entertained, but she does love being included in the action. However, her foster family learned that too much activity can contribute to anxiety symptoms, so she would do best in a home with a relatively predictable routine. Since she hasn’t been around children, an adult home or a family with older children would likely be the best fit.

Soda is comfortable being home alone and has done well with short periods of crating in her foster home, of up to about five hours. She does well for 6–7 hours a couple of days a week too, as long as she gets a potty break. She is a very well-behaved girl, but because of her resource (toy) guarding, her foster family does not leave her loose with resident dogs when unsupervised. Want to bring her into the office? Her foster mom thinks she would likely love that whereas she is so social. She’d likely make the rounds and then curl up on a nearby bed or rug for a snooze. One thing to make note of if you do want her hire her as your next office assistant is that she isn’t a huge fan of real long car rides but shorter trips she settles in just fine.

Soda has settled into foster life so well that her foster family knows they’ll miss her when it’s time for her to go. She’s sweet, funny, affectionate, a good listener, and has a wonderful ability to make herself part of the family. Now she’s looking for the people who will make her feel at home forever.
