Story
They say her name fits her perfectly, and once you meet Sunny, it’s easy to see why. This three-year-old Frenchie has a way of brightening every room with her sweet personality, playful spirit, and affectionate nature. She may be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she feels safe, Sunny truly lives up to her name.
Sunny came to FBRN after being surrendered when she struggled to adjust to life on a farm. While goats may not have been her cup of tea, she has settled beautifully into foster care and is ready to find a forever home where she can thrive.
Sunny is happiest when she’s close to her people. She loves being held, enjoys cuddling on the couch, and is always happy to soak up attention. She also has a playful side and loves showing off her backyard zoomies before settling down to relax.
Although she can be timid in new situations, Sunny gains confidence with patient encouragement and a predictable routine. Fast movements, loud voices, and unexpected noises can startle her, so she is looking for a calm home that will allow her to adjust at her own pace. Once she trusts you, her goofy, loving personality shines through.
Sunny enjoys car rides, short walks, relaxing outdoors, and mealtime, which may just be her favorite part of the day. She isn’t particularly interested in toys, but she will occasionally enjoy chewing on a yak cheese chew while keeping a close eye on whatever her family is doing.
Because Sunny eats and drinks with great enthusiasm, she will need an elevated slow feeder for both meals and water to help her eat at a healthier pace. Like all French Bulldogs, she can overheat quickly, so her forever family should understand Frenchie’s unique needs and be mindful of warm weather and exercise.
Sunny would do best with children 12 years and older who can respect her sensitive nature. A securely fenced yard would give her a safe place to stretch her legs and enjoy her favorite zoomies. Previous French Bulldog experience is strongly preferred, as her forever family should be comfortable managing the special care that comes with Frenchies.
Sunny has so much love to give to the family willing to give her a little time to blossom. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will reward your patience with endless affection and plenty of smiles, Sunny may be the perfect addition to your home.
Her foster family reports, “Sunny has been such an easy foster. She is like a bull in a china shop at first but settles quickly. She is loving and only wants to please and get lots of attention. FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
