“She is an even mixture of curious, cautious and a people pleaser. She is strong and fierce but also cute and snuggly. She will happily take the lead or blend in the back. She has learned that by sitting nice and patiently starring at the human will get her what she really wants. She does not like to be outside often. She likes walks but only short walks on cement. She doesn’t do hiking or adventure.”

Story
Sweetie has made her debut on the available page, and this petite 19-pound charmer is ready to find her forever home. At just over two years old, she came to FBRN when her previous family’s busy schedule left them without the time she deserved. Now Sweetie is looking for a family ready to make her part of the routine.
Sweetie is smart, quick to learn, and comes equipped with short bursts of energy that keep life interesting. She loves to please her people, enjoys walks, and is an intriguing mix of cautious and curious. She likes structure and does best with a routine, though adopters should know she can be quick at the door and will need a home mindful of her adventurous streak.
She is also a social girl when it comes to dogs and happily makes friends of all sizes and breeds. Sweetie likes kids too, though because her play style can be a little enthusiastic, older children are recommended. Cats are a no, simply because she has never been around them.
Sweetie is housebroken and crate trained, and she actually enjoys sleeping in her crate. A fenced yard would be a great fit for her, especially since she likes having a secure place to explore. She is not the type to quietly nap under a desk while you work, so office life is probably not her calling. New sounds are simply too interesting and require investigation. Sweetie takes her neighborhood watch duties seriously.
She does have allergies and takes Apoquel daily, along with the occasional medicated bath, so her future family should be prepared to help her stay comfortable.
Sweetie’s foster mom had this to say about her: “She is an even mixture of curious, cautious and a people pleaser.
In other words, if your idea of fun is neighborhood strolls, couch snuggles, and a dog with a little personality and a lot of charm, Sweetie may be your girl. She is looking for a home that appreciates her quirks, keeps her on a good routine, and maybe agrees that “not into hiking” is a perfectly reasonable lifestyle choice.
If Sweetie sounds like the missing piece in your household, all you need to do is apply for her and be ready to pick her up should you be selected.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
