“Tris is a gentle soul with just enough spunk. She loves running on the beach and getting belly rubs. Wants to sleep in your bed. When she’s happy she tosses herself on the ground and does the cutest little rolls. I would love to see her with a dog friend and I think she would too. She’s not always up for outings; she’s more of a snuggle bug home body, wanting to nuzzle with you nose to nose.”

Story
If you’ve been looking for a sweet Frenchie who slightly resembles the cutest elephant seal you’ve ever seen, meet Tris! Tris celebrated her first birthday while in FBRN foster care and is now ready to celebrate all the years to come with her forever family. Having found her way to FBRN after her former owner passed away, Tris makes her debut on the available page and we have a feeling this gal is going to be popular.
Tris is a healthy and happy puppy who loves playing with her canine foster siblings, chewing on Benebones and outsmarting her Kong Wobbler. And while she may enjoy a quick romp on the beach, she is built for short strolls, not speed or distance. Any activity longer than about 15 minutes and she’s ready to ride in a stroller or lounge on the couch. Because she doesn’t require much exercise, a small fenced yard would be perfect. Due to her rather large “nose rope” and short snout, she will not tolerate warmer temperatures. Interested parties should be aware she may need nare (nostril) surgery in the future if any breathing problems develop.
While Tris loves dogs and wants at least one canine companion in her new home, she really loves her humans. She’s very smart and was easily house trained. She’s also crate trained, tolerating up to about 6 hours at a time but it’s not her first preference. She’d rather have you stay home with her most of the day or take her to the office with you. If you have a nice work-life balance, leaning more toward more life and time with Tris, she would probably put your application toward the top. She does want you to know she gets quite stressed if left alone in the car, even if you’re gone for just a couple minutes to pay for gas.
Now, as perfect as Tris sounds, she does have some resource guarding tendencies and will need a strong pack leader. Because of this, she cannot be around any small children and she should be fed separately from the resident canines and always monitored around toys. She’s a mellow gal, but isn’t afraid to stand up for herself. Foster mom says that while she can be stubborn, trading things for something of higher value usually does the trick.
She also wants everyone to know that “Tris is a gentle soul with just enough spunk.
If you’re ready to muzzle nuzzle with Tris, plan your trip to the central California coast. She’s too big to fly but will likely tolerate a car trip, as long as you don’t leave her alone.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
