Twinkle shines brighter than any star in the night sky, and this little celestial diva is ready to find the forever family where she can finally land.

Twinkle is truly one of a kind. She is incredibly sweet, happy, quirky, funny, calm, gentle, and wonderfully quiet – she hardly ever makes a peep! She definitely has a little diva energy and likes to have things her way, but underneath it all is a loving little soul who wants nothing more than to be close to her people.

And when we say Velcro dog, we mean it! Twinkle follows her favorite person everywhere. If you’re heading to the kitchen, she’s coming. Going to another room? She’s right behind you. She wants to be your little satellite and spend her days orbiting around her person.

Twinkle isn’t much of a walking enthusiast. For her, walks are mostly about taking care of business rather than going on grand adventures. She much prefers relaxing outside, lounging in a stroller, and enjoying the world at her own pace. We’d consider her a minimal-exercise kind of girl. That said, every now and then, this little star gets a burst of cosmic energy and takes off with the zoomies!

One of Twinkle’s favorite things is her little squeaky blue champagne bottle toy – because even a diva needs a little sparkle and celebration in her life!

Twinkle has shown signs of separation anxiety, so she would do best in a home where she doesn’t have to spend a lot of time alone. A home with other dogs would be ideal, preferably with calm, submissive canine companions who can help her feel secure.

Her dream home would also be one where her person has the ability to work from home or otherwise be around frequently. Twinkle thrives on companionship and reassurance.

She also has a very small bladder, and her medications need to be given on a consistent schedule. If her family has someone available to give her regular potty breaks and keep her medication routine on schedule, she will be over the moon.

She does have some special medical needs that her forever family will need to be comfortable managing. Many of her teeth are missing, so she requires soft dog food. Her soft diet also helps manage her megacolon, which makes it difficult for her to pass stool. Twinkle takes two medications, administered three times a day, so her family will need to be committed to keeping her medication schedule consistent.

She may have a few extra needs, but this little star has an enormous amount of love to give in return.

Twinkle’s foster mom had this to say about her, “Twinkle is the most gentle, smart, playful, sweet, friendly, loving, pint-sized diva, little button faced girl. She’s so incredibly special to me and over the last several months, we’ve developed an undeniable bond. I genuinely love her so much. Writing this statement is so bittersweet because I know that it’s one step closer to her finding her forever home but it also indicates she won’t be with me physically anymore…I will always love her and will never forget her.”

Her foster mom also has a few tips for her forever family:
1) Be patient with her and allow her to open up to you, your home, around your pets, kids, etc. Twinkle has been through so much in her 5 years of life, she needs grace and the opportunity to process the change.
2) Shower her with unconditional love by including her in every activity, even the simple tasks like grabbing coffee.
3) Continue feeding her Open Pet Farm fresh food subscription, she is very picky and it’s the only feed she seems to lick clean.

Twinkle has been diagnosed with megacolon, a condition that makes it difficult for her colon to move stool normally and needs two medications given every 8 hours, every day without fail to ensure that her colon is working and to prevent severe constipation. Twinkle takes her medicine very well.
