Please welcome Victor to the Available page! Victor’s story could have ended very differently. This handsome two-year-old came to FBRN after a local Humane Society reached out for help when they learned he was facing euthanasia. Thankfully, FBRN stepped in, and now Victor is ready to find the forever family he deserves.

Victor may be completely paralyzed in his hind end, but if you ask him, life is still one big adventure. Whether he’s cruising around in his cart, scooting across the yard, wrestling with his foster brothers, or proudly carrying around a squeaky toy, Victor approaches every day with an infectious zest for life.

His foster mom describes him as “the happiest boy ever,” and it’s easy to see why. Victor is happiest when he’s surrounded by his people and his canine friends. He’s a laid-back, easygoing guy who loves to snuggle just as much as he loves to play. If there’s a squeaky toy nearby, he’ll happily entertain himself for hours. Once playtime is over, he’s more than content curling up next to his favorite humans for some well-earned cuddles.

Victor absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with playful canine companions. He’s submissive by nature and enjoys following the lead of the other dogs in his foster home. He has not been tested with cats, and while he has not spent time around children, his special needs make an adult home the best fit so his daily care can be managed consistently.

Victor is incontinent and wears a diaper. His forever family will need to be comfortable expressing his bladder three to five times each day and helping him stay clean and comfortable. He takes his care in stride and is wonderfully cooperative during diaper changes and expressing. While his special needs require a little extra time, they certainly don’t slow him down or dampen his joyful spirit.

Victor also has typical Frenchie airway anatomy. Since coming into FBRN, he has already undergone nare surgery, which has made a tremendous difference for him. His veterinarian has noted that his soft palate may eventually need to be addressed, and his forever family should be prepared to monitor his breathing as he grows.

Victor would be happiest in a home where someone is around most of the day. He enjoys being close to his people and can become a little anxious when he thinks he’s being left behind. A fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus, giving him plenty of opportunities to scoot around or explore in his cart, but he could also do well in an apartment or home with regular outings. Experience with French bulldogs and special needs dogs is preferred, though adopters willing to learn and committed to his daily care will quickly discover that Victor makes every bit of extra effort worthwhile.

His foster mom shares, “Victor is the absolute sweetest boy around. We don’t know much about his life before rescue, but after receiving the veterinary care he needed, he has become a whole new dog. He loves snuggling with his people and playing endlessly with his foster brothers. We hope his forever family will look beyond his special needs and see the goofy, lovable boy we get to enjoy every day.”

Victor doesn’t spend any time wishing life were different. He’s far too busy squeaking toys, playing with friends, soaking up sunshine, and making everyone around him smile. If you’re looking for a resilient, affectionate companion, Victor may be the perfect addition to your family.
