Story
There’s a reason her name is Violet. Like the little flower she is named after, six-year-old Violet is gentle, sweet, and beautiful in an unassuming way. She may be quiet, but she has plenty of love to give and is happiest when she’s close to her people.
Violet is truly one of the sweetest, most affectionate girls you could meet. Give her a little attention and she’ll happily roll over for belly rubs. She has a way of looking at you that makes it very hard to resist one more cuddle, and she would love nothing more than a family to call her own.
Violet would thrive in a family home with plenty of people around, especially one with children. She currently lives with two children, ages 7 and 11, and is wonderful with them. Calm, gentle, and affectionate, she’s happy to lie beside her little humans and keep them company. She simply enjoys being part of the action and doesn’t want to miss out on whatever her family is doing.
If her foster mom is cooking dinner, Violet will settle on the floor nearby, patiently hoping someone will stop for a little affection. Fortunately, the kids are happy to keep her company! She would also make a lovely office buddy, curling up in her bed while you work. But when you get up, don’t be surprised if she follows. Violet likes to keep her people in sight, and she would do best with a family where someone is home much of the day or can arrange for her to have company. Although she is crate trained, being left alone for long stretches isn’t her preference.
Violet is also housebroken, but she has trouble holding her pee for extended periods and needs to go outside at least four times a day. Her family should be prepared to maintain a regular potty schedule.
She gets along well with other dogs, although she isn’t much of a player herself. If another dog is looking for a wrestling partner, Violet would probably prefer to politely decline and find a sunny spot to relax nearby. She would be perfectly happy as your one-and-only, but she could also share her home with another calm, dog-friendly pup. Her experience with cats is unknown.
As for toys, squeaky toys are her absolute favorite! She has already shredded three of them, so her future family should be prepared to keep an eye on her toys and have a few replacements handy.
Violet’s foster family reports, “Violet is so sweet and lovable. She would be a great addition to any home, but her calm nature and desire for affection make her the perfect dog for a house with kids or multiple people around to give her love and attention.”
Violet doesn’t ask for much. She just wants to be near her people, have someone to follow around, enjoy a few belly rubs, and curl up beside the ones she loves. If your home has plenty of affection and companionship to share, this gentle girl may be just the flower your family needs.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
