Emi was released to FBRN from a commercial breeder, and we think she’s about four years old. As a former breeding mama, Emi was never properly socialized or exposed to the nuances of being a family pet. When she first arrived into foster care, she even had trouble walking thanks to her overgrown nails, and she stunk to high heaven. Fortunately, she’s now looking (and smelling) as fresh as a bat-eared flower!

Emi is still working on this whole “being a pet” thing. Housebreaking is definitely a work in progress. And who can blame her? She grew up in a crate and had no other choice. Her foster family is also still working on managing some of her insecurities and behaviors, but ever so slowly, she is making progress.

It’s going to take Emi some time to learn the ins and outs of being a pet, but she’s already well on her way.
