Please welcome Franklin to FBRN! This 16-week-old puppy is all Frenchie, all energy, and very much living up to his “puppy shark” credentials. Franklin was tearfully surrendered, along with all his belongings, when his previous owner was faced with medical costs they could not manage. He had only been with his family for five days when an emergency changed everything.

Franklin somehow fractured his left elbow and will require surgery, followed by rehabilitation. The good news is he is in experienced hands, and there is every reason to be optimistic about his recovery. For now, he is taking it easy on pain medication and anti-inflammatories while he waits for swelling to subside and the next steps in his treatment plan.

Even with a broken elbow, Franklin is making quite an impression. He has met other animals politely, is doing remarkably well with potty training, and has already made it clear he has opinions, especially when he hears the word “no.” He is a talker, a character, and exactly the kind of puppy who keeps life interesting.

Like any growing boy, Franklin’s priorities currently include meals, treats, chewing anything available to his sharp little puppy teeth, and negotiating for extra cuddles when confinement feels beneath him.
