About Hemi
Hemi arrived in FBRN’s care with his sister, Anouk, who has since gone to a foster home in Pennsylvania. The two were surrendered to FBRN after an altercation, and Hemi is now settling into foster care while his foster mom is working to help him feel safe and secure.
To say Hemi has had a bit of a rough start would be an understatement. He came to his foster home with very little training and severe separation anxiety. His first night was pure chaos, as he managed to bust through two crates, jump onto the kitchen counter several times, and even break through a barrier intended to keep him safely separated from his two FBRN foster siblings.
Hemi has already had his intake exam, where the veterinary team started him on a combination of medications to help manage his anxiety. Right now, his foster family is focused on keeping him safe, separated when necessary, and as comfortable and happy as possible. Hemi is happiest when his person is nearby, ideally in the same room or within a couple of feet and firmly within his line of sight. Hemi still needs to be neutered, and in the meantime his foster mom is taking things one day at a time…working through his anxiety and helping him learn that he is safe and cared for. With some time, patience, structure, and the right support, this beautiful boy will begin to settle and show us the wonderful Frenchie underneath all that anxiety.
