Pickle has already made the rounds on social media, and now he is making his official debut on our website. This sweet boy was picked up as a stray and clearly had not been living an easy life. At the shelter, foreign objects were found in his stomach, which he thankfully passed, and he showed signs of chewing and ingesting anything he could get his paws on. An FBRN volunteer rescued Pickle from the shelter and transported him from California’s Salad Bowl to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Pickle arrived in foster care with significant medical needs. He suffered from persistent bloody diarrhea and severe, long standing ear infections that caused painful hematomas, leaving his ears swollen shut. The discomfort led him to constantly shake his head and rub himself raw in search of relief. After an extensive vet visit, Pickle was treated for bacterial and yeast infections in both his ears and skin and tested positive for giardia. He is now on a treatment plan that includes medication, medicated baths, and proper nutrition, and he is slowly beginning to feel better.

Despite everything, Pickle is a gentle and affectionate boy who seeks out human attention and offers sweet kisses in return. He is still learning how to be a pet and is unsure about stairs and being picked up, but he is making progress in foster care. He has recently discovered the joy of treat filled Kongs and has happily claimed a spot on the people bed, where his impressive snoring is already legendary.
