Gorgonzola Updates on 03-27-2026:
When Gorgonzola first arrived in FBRN’s care, our veterinary team began working to understand the cause of her urinary incontinence and develop a treatment plan. This bright, goofy one-year-old quickly stole hearts with her affectionate personality and playful spirit.
After additional testing, including an echocardiogram, we received difficult news. Gorgonzola is living with ultra-severe pulmonic stenosis, a serious congenital heart condition. The right side of her heart is already affected, and due to the severity, specialists have determined she is not a candidate for anesthesia or surgery- including procedures that may have helped address her urinary issues. With this in mind, FBRN has made the compassionate decision to transition Gorgonzola into hospice care.
Gorgonzola will remain in her loving foster home, where she can continue to be her happy, silly self, surrounded by people who adore her.
About Gorgonzola
If you are a fan of cheese, you are going to love FBRN’s newest arrival, Gorgonzola. This sweet one-year-old merle girl joined rescue when her previous owner was unable to continue meeting her medical needs.
Gorgonzola is currently dealing with urinary incontinence, and her veterinary team will be working to determine the cause and best treatment plan. Despite this challenge, she has already shown herself to be a happy, affectionate, and delightfully goofy young dog.
She enjoys her toys, welcomes attention from her humans, and approaches life with an easygoing spirit. Gorgonzola is settling into foster care and taking everything in stride while she gets the medical support she needs.

For Gorgonzola: From a neighbor in MN, well wishes.
To little Gorgonzola, I too had a congenital heart defect that required open heart surgery at the age of 41. Here is a little help for life’s little problems.
