Olive Updates on 03-27-2026
Olive has been through so much since arriving in FBRN’s care. After recovering from aspiration pneumonia, her veterinary team was finally able to get a clearer look at her lungs. Sadly, X-rays revealed multiple lung nodules, likely metastatic disease related to her existing mammary tumors.
Despite this difficult news, Olive remains comfortable and surrounded by love.
FBRN has made the compassionate decision to transition Olive into hospice care, where the focus is no longer on invasive procedures, but on what matters most- her comfort and quality of life.
Her days are filled with soft beds and the constant companionship of her foster family. She will continue on her current medications, with her foster family closely monitoring her to ensure she remains happy and comfortable

Olives are commonly associated with health, peace and hope. And FBRN’s newest foster, Olive, is getting a bit of all three now that she has made her way into a loving foster home. Found as a stray and pulled from the shelter, Olive is an estimated ten-years-old. She is a distinguished fawn beauty with a tooth that sometimes peeps out from her bottom lip. Can we coin “cute as an olive” as the newest catch phrase?
Sweet Olive is not in the greatest health and is being treated for an upper respiratory infection, but once she’s had some time to settle and undergo a complete veterinary work up, we’ll have a better idea of her long-term prognosis.
