Sweet as a cherry and ready for a fresh start—please welcome Cerise to FBRN! Brought to a local shelter as a stray right before the new year, her fortunes are improving for 2025 as she is safe in foster care and getting the love and attention she deserves!

Cerise is estimated to be around six years old. She arrived with some skin irritation, missing fur, and callused feet—possibly due to hyperkeratosis. Thankfully, Cerise seems to tolerate medicated baths and ointment for her skin and nose. We’ll be working with her vet to get to the bottom of her skin issues and ensure she’s as comfortable as possible. She also has an abdominal scar, though it’s unclear whether it’s from a spay or a cesarean surgery.

Despite occasional itchiness, she sleeps soundly through the night and has been a mellow houseguest. She’s friendly with strangers, tolerant of handling, and so far, uninterested in other dogs—though she does know how to belt out the famous Frenchie Wail!

She will continue to spend time with her foster family so that more of her personality can be brought to fruition and her skin can start to heal.
