Story
Looking for a little meatball to go with your spaghetti? Look no further! Introducing Amelio, your soon-to-be favorite couch potato, part-time athlete, and full-time snuggler.
Amelio may have a name that means “industrious, brave, and bold,” but these days he’s leaning more into “laid-back, loving, and occasionally zoomy.” This compact little guy came into rescue when his previous family couldn’t keep up with his medical needs. Thanks to a successful palate and nares surgery (and the generosity of some fabulous FBRN supporters), he’s breathing easier and ready to take on his next adventure—preferably one that involves a soft couch and a human lap.
At almost two years old, Amelio is a mellow companion with just enough spunk to keep things interesting. He gets along beautifully with his Boston Terrier foster siblings and tends to make friends wherever he goes. He’s leash-savvy when the mood strikes, though he’s quick to remind you that lounging indoors has its perks. He’ll tolerate his crate if he must, but his preferred sleeping arrangement involves human beds and premium snuggle access.
Amelio is mostly potty trained, though he does have an occasional tendency to mark, something his forever family should be prepared to work on with patience and consistency. As for barking? Not really his style. While the resident Bostons launch into full watchdog mode, Amelio is more likely to offer a quiet chuff from the sidelines.
He’s also cat-friendly, which is a nice bonus. Kid compatibility, however, remains unknown, so we’re recommending an adults-only home for now. What we do know is this, Amelio is a sweet, silly, low-drama kind of guy who’s ready to bring his trademark mix of affection and mild mischief to the right forever home.
Here’s what his foster mom has to say: “Now that our little meatball is feeling spry and snuggle-ready, it’s time for him to find a forever home where he can do what he does best: love hard, zoom fast, and nap like it’s his job.”
If you’re searching for a companion who’s big on heart and low on hassle, Amelio might just be your guy. Come to the table (or better yet, click “Apply”), and let’s start this forever thing.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family. Amelio is not a great fan of car trips, two hours is his limit, but he would be able to fly.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
