Story
Do you believe in miracles? If not, then you haven’t met Arabella, the little Frenchie who almost didn’t make it out of the junkyard where she was abandoned. It’s been a long road, but Arabella has transformed from a living skeleton to a happy and healthy young pup with the help of FBRN, our donors and her loving foster family. And now she is available and ready to find her happily ever after.
Arabella has had quite the journey from being on the brink of death to adoption ready and can’t wait to find her special match. After being found and brought to the local shelter, FBRN swooped in not a minute too late and rushed her to surgery for intussusception, where part of the intestine coils in on itself. While Arabella has gained much needed weight while in foster, she still needs to add on a pound or two. She loves food so this will not be hard!
She is the epitome of a velcro dog and wants to be near her favorite human at all times. Currently, she follows foster dad from room to room never letting him out of her sight. Now that she’s safe and sound in the care of her foster family, Arabella is reliving the mischievous puppy years that she missed out on. The junkyard didn’t have an abundance of appropriate puppy toys or supervision, so it’s no wonder she finds leaves, sticks, mulch and rocks highly suitable chew toys instead of true doggy toys. She is crate trained, but would rather not be confined to one for extended periods of time. Potty training is a work in progress and she would benefit from someone that can keep her on a consistent schedule.
Presumably having had to fight for everything to stay alive, Arabella does not share well. Because she has shown resource guarding behaviors, she must never be around small children who may try to take toys or food away from her or touch her paws and ears. She lives with two canine foster siblings and the younger one is her best playmate. There is no known cat history so for everyone’s safety, we have to say no to households with felines.
Arabella has been known to practice the song of her people when she hears the doorbell or sounds she is not familiar with, so if her adopters share walls with someone, hopefully they are understanding souls and fans of the Frenchie yodel. A fenced yard is strongly preferred and she should be supervised while outside so she doesn’t consume something that is not meant to be digested.
This special girl’s foster mom wants you to know, “Arabella loves to be! I do not know how to explain it. She jumps with pure joy when she sees her people, her food, or a toy. She is full of love and life. All she wants is to be close by, accepted and loved.”
Will you be the one who continues to show Arabella all the love and guidance she deserves? Such a special gal deserves a very special family so when you fill out your application, be sure to include why you might be the best match. Arabella could fly with you in cabin to her new home or take a road trip so if chosen, plan your way to New Jersey to pick up your little miracle.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
