“Birdie is incredibly affectionate and wants nothing else than to spend time with her human. She is so snuggly, she melts into you. She has not had an easy start to life, so I am excited to see her thrive with her new family. Her new family must be prepared to help her navigate the teenage years, which may include occasional shoe theft, but she will always make up for it with endless affection.”

Story
Ready, set, Birdie is a go for the available page! This 7-month-old girl arrived in FBRN care after her previous owners realized they could not afford treatment for her chronic regurgitation.
What Birdie loves most is playing in the yard. She has invented a newer version of fetch. This requires her foster mom to throw the ball for her, then chase her to get the ball back. Birdie could also be a professional sunbather. She usually finds the best spot with the perfect amount of light out in the yard or the tiny sliver that will peak through in the house. Birdie is definitely a grade-A snuggler! Birdie must be monitored when another dog is present, as she will guard her person and it can quickly escalate even if the other dog is just finding a better position on the other end of the couch.
Birdie is very sweet and affectionate towards people. She is a puppy, and can be quite the mischievous girl. If you happen to take an eye off her for a split second, you’ll likely find her on top of the coffee table. Heck, your shoe might even go missing, as Birdie happens to be a fan of all size shoes. Don’t be fooled, you will not see this side of her initially but once her comfort with you kicks in, be on guard!
Birdie would do best in a home with adults only or a home with older, dog savvy children. She would only get along well with a very submissive and laid-back dog. A happy-go-lucky younger dog would be the best fit. Birdie often attempts to initiate play with other dogs by barking. She can be easily stimulated by other dogs while on a leash, so a yard is essential for her potty breaks. Birdie needs a strong pack leader or she will try to run the show. She would do best with a person who has previous French bulldog experience. At her age, a work from home or stay at home person would be ideal for Birdie’s continued success with potty training. However, once housebroken she could get used to a mid-day break to potty and get her puppy energy out.
Birdie’s foster mom had this to say about her: “Birdie is incredibly affectionate and wants nothing else than to spend time with her human. She is so snuggly, she melts into you. She has not had an easy start to life, so I am excited to see her thrive with her new family. Her new family must be prepared to help her navigate the teenage years, which may include occasional shoe theft, but she will always make up for it with endless affection.”
If you think that you can handle all of Birdie’s puppy energy and her quirks, then all you need to do is fill out an application to adopt her. After that be ready to road trip your way to pick her up should you be selected as her forever home.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog
