“Brooks is a fun dog to have around! He follows me everywhere, participates in all cooking activities by being underfoot, helps with dishwasher loading, but doesn’t understand that unloading doesn’t need help, and would gladly jump in your lap if you’d only let him! I’ll sit on the floor, and he’ll crawl into my lap for wrestling or belly rubs. If you have nothing else to do with your hands, then why aren’t you petting him? When he has been isolated for feeding time, he does a head-tilt as if to say “was that necessary?” His face is expressive, he is energetic, and an excellent dog. I have heard his snoring during naps, but not at bedtime. Maybe I fall asleep first!”

Story
Well butter me and call me biscuit! It did not take this handsome fella very long to make his way to the available page! Please put your paws together again for Brooks!!!
Brooks found his way to FBRN when the circumstances in his homelife changed and his previous owners realized they could not give this guy the attention he deserved.
We are happy to share that Brooks is H-E-A-L-T-H-Y!!! He does not require any medication and has no diagnosed health issues. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all his vaccinations. Yee-haw for all that!
Brooks does love his treats! A typical food motivated French bulldog, this will come in handy when working on Brooks’ obedience and socialization. Brooks’ foster mom reports that while he has mastered “come” and “sit”, he will need some additional work on other commands like “off,” “down” and “stay”. Do not forget that Brooks is a still a puppy so this also means working on “mouthing,” housebreaking, leash walking and exposing him to different people, dogs and environments. Everything is a new adventure for Brooks and it will take some work getting him accustomed to so many wonderful new things! He will need a new owner who is dedicated to putting in the time to working with him. He has spent some time around both a big and a small dog and has done well. He would love a canine companion who will play with him all the live long day!
Flavored bones, stuffies and food puzzles are some of his favorite pastimes. Zoomies are a given and his zoomie partner is a stuffed unicorn, however, do not expect this boy to play fetch. Tossing a ball will leave Brooks in a state of bewilderment! Belly rubs and cuddles are at the top of this sweet boy’s list as spending time with his humans is his top priority.
Brooks has not spent a lot of time around children so older dog savvy kids (ages 12 or older) would be best for him. Someone who works from home would be ideal but at the very least a midday potty break for him. Brooks is not crate trained and is currently in a room while his foster mom is at work. He would love a fenced yard! An apartment might not be ideal as he does greet people and strange sounds with a boisterous howl-o!
Here is what Brooks’ foster mom has to say about her time with him, “Brooks is a fun dog to have around!
If Brooks sounds like the perfect dog for you, then giddy up on over to the available page and apply to adopt this green-eyed charmer! Brooks is far too big to fly but this guy is all in for a good road trip!
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we do not set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
