“Chichi is the most loving baby girl. She is full of love and happiness. She has no idea she is paralyzed and lives life to the fullest! She outruns other dogs and is always smiling. She does require work every 4-5 hours all day and night, but it feels effortless after she snuggles into you to say thank you. She is just pure sunshine.”

Story
Look out! Sweet and spunky Chichi is ready to find her forever family! If you’re looking for an athletic Frenchie who is always smiling, then please read on because she might be the girl for you.
Chichi is your typical energetic puppy despite her physical limitations. She has hind end paralysis which will require a little extra care and support from her family. Her smile and joy de vivre make it all worth it!! When indoors, Chichi loves to chew her bone and scoot around playing with her foster fur siblings! She is very strong in her upper body and never seems to tire. Three times a day, she gets strapped into her cart so she can wheel around the backyard. Chichi loves to play fetch and race around the yard with the other dogs!
Chichi is completely paralyzed from the waist down and is fecal/urinary incontinent. She wears diapers throughout the day and sleeps on a puppy pad at night. Her bladder needs to be expressed every 4-5 hours, but don’t fret if you don’t yet know how to express a dog’s bladder. It’s a very easy skill to learn and Chichi doesn’t mind one bit. Chichi doesn’t have any of the pesky allergies that tend to be so common in Frenchies, and she doesn’t require a special diet. However, it would be great if her forever family continued her daily supplements (glucosamine and fish oil).
Chichi gets along great with dogs and children, although, kiddos would need to be old enough to understand that they must be careful with Chichi. She is very energetic and would love a family that can provide plenty of playtime! Because she needs bladder expression, Chichi would need someone who could be home with her throughout the day or a family with staggered or flexible work schedules. Currently, her foster mom changes her pee pad in the middle of the night to keep her clean and make sure she doesn’t get urine scald. Foster mom also gives Chichi a bath every few days and this routine would likely need to continue in her forever home.
While her forever family will need to be committed to Chichi’s care needs, it will be well worth the dedication. She is a happy dog and brings joy to those in her life. Chichi’s foster mom has this to say, “Chichi is the most loving baby girl. She is full of love and happiness. She has no idea she is paralyzed and lives life to the fullest! She outruns other dogs and is always smiling. She does require work every 4-5 hours all day and night, but it feels effortless after she snuggles into you to say thank you. She is just pure sunshine.”
If you love Chichi’s smiling face, submit your application and tell us why your family is the perfect fit! Then get ready for a trip to South Carolina as FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo and adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
