“This girl is a gem! She has had a rough beginning to life, however this has not stopped her from loving and trusting with all her heart. Chrystal came to me underweight and while she has not met her goal, she is off to a good start. This pup loves with all she has and enjoys being next to her people. If you feel like someone is following you, it’s just your shadow Chrystal. Looking to watch TV or snuggle up somewhere? Make sure you leave room for this girl to join in because she will cuddle up under a blanket close to you. She would love to have a fur brother/sister who can continue teaching her all about how to be a dog. Chrystal has conquered a lot of obstacles since she arrived to FBRN and will need someone who can continue working with her on polite doggy manners, potty training and leash training. She has come a long way to being the loving dog that she is today, and she is one that you do not want to miss. Someone will be lucky to have this sweet girl.”

Story
Shining bright like a diamond, Chrystal is ready to start combing through all the adoption applications she is sure to receive as she goes available. After being surrendered by a commercial breeder and spending valuable time in her FBRN foster home, she is now ready to find her new family! After reading her bio, sharpen your *pencils and tell us why Chrystal should consider you. (*Applications are actually online so pencils aren’t really required.)
Having come from a breeding facility, Chrystal entered foster care without many life skills, but she has quickly adapted to a home environment as a beloved pet. She has loved every single human she has met, whether a 6-year-old child or an older adult. If you have a body she can snuggle up on or hands you can pet her with, she is there! And she gets along really well with her canine siblings too. She is still learning some social cues and dog-to-dog manners so slow introductions will be necessary, as always, but she loves to play with four-legged friends.
Chrystal is still learning about toys, but she is treat motivated, which will be helpful with the continued training she will need in her new home. Potty training is a work in progress, but she does wonderfully well on her current 2-3 hour schedule. She hasn’t had any accidents in the last several weeks. Way to go Chrystal! She has also been left up to 4 hours alone without any issues, but she would love to accompany you to work, if allowed. She’s heard petting a dog is a great way to decrease stress and increase productivity at work so if your boss needs any convincing, give them her number.
She is also perfecting general puppy manners and how to walk well on a leash so continued guidance and a fenced yard is preferred. Chrystal would definitely benefit from a playful canine sibling in her new home. And the more people the better! She really is all about the snuggles. She is a happy camper with love to give and wants to show off all the wonderful progress she has made since her arrival to FBRN. She does have a history of ear infections and Giardia so her new adopters will need to monitor for recurrence.
Her foster mom has so many good things to say about Chrystal, “This girl is a gem! She has had a rough beginning to life, however this has not stopped her from loving and trusting with all her heart. Chrystal came to me underweight and while she has not met her goal, she is off to a good start. This pup loves with all she has and enjoys being next to her people. If you can’t wait to have your own little Chrystal-shaped shadow in your life, apply for this precious pup now. There is no distance limit for applicants, but Chrystal’s chosen family will have to travel to Maryland to pick her up. She can’t wait to create a Chrystal-shaped indent in the couch cushion as she lies next to you any chance she gets.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
