“to say Chuckie is pure joy is an understatement. He has brought so much laughter and love into the home the past few months that I know this place will never be the same without him. He will often take a toy in his mouth, put his ears back in “sport mode” and proudly wiggle his body around showing off his prize. It is affectionately called his “parade.” And he gets a kick out of himself when he manages to push the tiny tennis ball under the couch repeatedly, forcing me to spend a lot of time on the floor searching under the couch. Whoever is lucky enough to adopt this precious boy is in for the best years of their life. He is sure to make your day brighter, make you laugh harder and smile wider and make your heart fuller.”

Story
Not to be confused with another redhead named Chucky, our rugrat was named after Chuckie Finster. Chuckie was surrendered to FBRN as a very wee lad with his mom and brother after their family fell on hard times. While in foster care, he has been learning very important puppy skills and is now ready to graduate to his forever home who will continue his education.
Much like his namesake, our Chuckie is learning to face his fears. He is the epitome of an energetic and mischievous puppy, but lacks some natural confidence. While he may not specifically be afraid of the “the guy on the oatmeal box with the scary hat,” he will need continued positive socialization with new people, places and animals. He currently lives with an older resident Frenchie and they are best friends. Chuckie would love to have a canine playmate in his new home or be able to attend doggy day care to continue working on his social skills and confidence.
Just like a rugrat, Chuckie loves toys: tiny tennis balls, crinkly toys, squeaker toys, giggle balls and Yak chews. He would happily play fetch with his tiny tennis balls all day, if allowed. He is treat motivated and learning to find pieces of food foster mom hides in the house or yard so he can use his nose for enrichment. He will do zoomies in the evening, bouncing off the walls like a bumper car and rushing up to you with a huge grin on his face. Because of his energy level, playful puppy teething tendencies and sensitive soul, very young kids would not be the best match.
Because he is still so young, Chuckie would love a family with a flexible schedule so he’s not left home alone all day. He is crate trained and housebroken, having been crated up to 4 hours at a time without an accident. He needs a little more time and training before going to an office, but has all the potential in the world. He will need an owner who has some previous dog experience so let us know how you will continue his training and positive reinforcement in order to help Chuckie evolve into the best version of himself.
Chuckie’s foster mom absolutely adores this rugrat and says, “to say Chuckie is pure joy is an understatement.
Puppies tend to be in high demand and Frenchie puppies, even higher. If you are the lucky family to be chosen, plan your trip to North Carolina. He’s probably a bit too big already to fly in cabin but he is getting better in the car so there is no distance limit. Get your apps in because Chuckie is “ready to make this world his toaster.”
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
